As an Egyptian, I am really sad about what happened in the last 3 days in Egypt, the loss of lives is unacceptable in any form and in any way.
The level of rage and tension in the Egyptian community towards the insanity that has been happening is beyond reason, killings, burning churches and mosques, innocent lives taken away , parents, wives and children losing their loved ones are all in deep grief. Again,There is nothing in the world that justifies the loss of one Single life !
There are clear reasons for what happened which are :
-Morsi's Call for blood and Martyrdom explicitly in his last Presidential Speech
-The Presence of Arms in the sit-ins which was proved by the Shots fired and Dead Officers in addition to weapons found
-The large number of Protesters in the sit-in
-The Conviction of Muslim Brothers that they are "Right" and the others are "Wrong" as they are Islam and its Holy Protectors
-The Continuous Terror Threats of blood Shed from Muslim Brotherhood which would have definitely triggered over reaction from Police
-Engage Some of the innocent Salafists who were convinced by some Sheikhs that it is war on "Islam"
-The Terror attacks that are daily happening in Sinai from Qaeda Linked cells and supported by MB as per Beltagy one of MB's leaders and who were consistently killing a police and the Army for the last 45 days.
-The International support that was given to MB through various high level figures from the EU and US and the International Media describing Jun30 as a Coup which provided a Platform for escalation
-The Perception by Morsi supporters that it is a coup and they had to get Morsi back
-The failure of Negotiations to end the sit-in
-The lack of Trust between the Army and the MB after the Sinai killings of 16 police officers
The moral dilemma of the Islamist & Secularism is not the issue and it not a war of Religion, the Egyptian state is under attack and there should be a resolution
We have to take immediate steps to resolve those issues:
-The Solution requires a Paradigm shift in the mindset of Muslim Brotherhood first, MB have to realise that Morsi can't get to power, MB members have to pass the denial stage and accept the new Reality of Egypt, Morsi won't be back, move on. The resort to violence to reach power will do nothing but make them lose any political hope to come back in the future, the more violence in churches, mosques, etc the more it becomes an existential problem that would lead to the Algerian scenario where 200,000 were killed.
-The Army and the Police should exert maximum restraint and take appropriate measures in dealing with MB members
-A national dialogue should start immediately mediated by the Azhar and Moderate Salafists, MB should clarify the Internationalization of their problem and their resort to Foreign Powers.
